How to read this record
Every claim is tagged
Most family trees flatten everything into the same confident typeface. This one does not.
The three research tags below are the whole point of the exercise: they say what a document
proves, what the weight of evidence suggests, and what nobody has found yet. A fourth marks
what the family stated directly, where no document has been retrieved at all — it is kept
separate on purpose and is never quietly promoted to confirmed. A fifth, added on
13 September 2026, marks biological evidence: a DNA result is not a document, and it is not
testimony either. Two further labels mark where this page withholds information
rather than lacking it.
ConfirmedAttested by a document that was actually retrieved and read — a census sheet, a
government index, a grave marker, a family-written obituary.
ProbableStrongly supported but not nailed down: a user-contributed tree, a masked index field,
or a chain of consistent circumstances. Believable, not proven.
Not foundSearched for and not located. This is a statement about the search, not about the
person — the record may well exist somewhere unsearched.
Family testimonySupplied by the family and recorded on their word — no document has been retrieved for
it. Note the diamond rather than the dot: this is provenance, not proof, and it stands
apart from the three record tags above S24.
DNA evidenceBiological evidence consistent with a claim. It corroborates origins; it does
not by itself establish a person or a link. Note the bar rather than a dot or a diamond:
no DNA result on this page is ever counted as confirmed, because no document
was read for it S46.
Living — withheldThe person is living. By the privacy rule for this page, name and relationship are
shown, and at most a year the family has already published. Full dates of birth, ages,
places of residence and record identifiers are held back.
Research in progressA branch that is actively being worked on. The node exists in the structure so the
shape of the family is honest; the detail is simply not in yet.

Eddie Guy Walker Probable confirm or correct →. The 1942 draft card of Eddie G. Walker gives his birth as 23 September 1898 at
San Marcos, Texas, his home as
1310 College, Fort Worth, his work at Bewley Mills, and his contact as “Mrs. E. G. Walker”
S710. His age fits E. G., 41, of the 1940 census
S394. What is weak: the card does not give his wife's name, and 1310 College is not the 2605 Hale Street of April 1940, so the match rests on the initials, the city and the age. added 26 September 2026.

Open questions what is probable, weak or missing — confirm or correct it
Open question
⚠️
Her birth date is not settled. The certificate says
27 November 1897; the 1930 census reading already on this site says
29 November 1896 S87. Two days and one year apart. Item 8 of a death certificate is
informant-supplied, seventy-four years after the fact, so
neither date is settled and both stay here until a Nebraska birth record decides. The bare
1889 formerly shown on this card came from a user-contributed FamilySearch tree
S12 and is superseded.
Open question
⚠️ What the trauma was is not recorded. The certificate names post-traumatic shock as the underlying cause, yet every injury field is blank
accident, suicide, homicide, the time, the manner and the place of injury are all left empty. The certificate contradicts itself by omission.
Open question
⚠️ The certificate is filed under her married name, Nettie E. Walker, and names no husband
the form has no spouse field. She is identified as this Nettie on the Cleaveland maiden surname, the initial E. for Ellen, the Nebraska birthplace and the shared Mount Olivet burial, not on a statement in the document.

User-contributed; event lists are treated as PROBABLE unless separately sourced. - S871930 United States federal census — Precinct 2, Jackson County, Texas: the Walker household. Read 16 September 2026. Enumerates Daniel Jonah Walker and Nettie Ellen "Annie" Walker with their children Mary, Olan, Clarence Melvin and Robert J — the household Kristin's grandfather was born into at Lolita in 1920. This is what took the Walker great-grandparents past two bare index names. Before it, the couple existed only in the parent fields of their son's Social Security NUMIDENT record, which spells her "Nettie Clevland" and gives no dates, no places and no children. The census writes Cleveland and supplies the household. Their own parents are still Not found; the tree's "Desa Hodges, b. 1888" for Nettie's mother would make the mother eight years old and is rejected, not corrected.
- S145Texas certificate of death no. 92128, 1971 — Nettie E. Walker (Nettie Ellen Cleveland). Ancestry collection 2272 (Texas, U.S., Death Certificates, 1903–1982), record 1216570, image
33154_b062847-00961, form VS-112 rev. 1/58. Filed with the local registrar 1 December 1971 (file no. 96, L. M. Sheffield) and received by the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics 18 December 1971. Read from the image at full resolution — 2811 × 2390 px, 30/30 DeepZoom tiles, 21 September 2026. The sheet gives: name Nettie E. Walker; died 25 November 1971 at 6:00 a.m. in White Settlement Hospital, White Settlement, Tarrant County, after a stay of one month; usual residence 5717 Terrace Trail, Sansom Park; female, Caucasian, married; date of birth 27 November 1897, age 73; birthplace Nebraska, citizen of the U.S.A.; occupation housewife, homemaking; father Melton Cleaveland; mother's maiden name Maude Melville Warner; never in the armed forces; Social Security number on the certificate, not transcribed; cause of death uremia (2 weeks) due to renal shutdown (3 weeks) due to post-traumatic shock (3 weeks); autopsy performed; certified by C. J. Carter, M.D., who had attended her since 1965; buried 27 November 1971 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, by Maxine Biggers of Biggers Funeral Home. Her parents are named here for the first time in this research — Melton Cleaveland and Maude Melville Warner. Neither has appeared in any earlier file, and neither is given a person record on the strength of one line on one certificate. The burial is the strongest tie to this family: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth, on 27 November 1971 is the same cemetery as her son Clarence Melvin Walker. ⚠ The birth date on this sheet conflicts with the one already on this site. The certificate says 27 November 1897; the couple card carries 29 November 1896 — two days and one year apart — and neither date is settled. Item 8 of a death certificate is informant-supplied, not a birth record; the age column (73 last birthday) agrees with the certificate's own date, which corroborates the sheet and not the fact. Both stay on the page until a Nebraska birth or baptismal record decides. ⚠ The certificate is registered under her married surname and names no husband — the form has no spouse field, so the sheet never says Daniel. The identification rests on the Cleaveland maiden surname in item 13, the middle initial E. for Ellen, the Nebraska birthplace already independently on record [S87], and the shared Mount Olivet burial. Ancestry's hint engine also matched it to her, which is an opinion and not evidence. ⚠ The informant is a signature, not a printed name, reading most plausibly E. G. Walker; it is not D. J. Walker and not C. M. Walker as written, and who E. G. Walker was is unknown. ⚠ Post-traumatic shock is named as the underlying cause while every injury field is blank — items 20a–20f, accident/suicide/homicide, time, manner and place of injury, are entirely empty. The certificate contradicts itself by omission, and what happened three weeks before her death is not on this page. ⚠ The physician's street address (item 22b) reads 6721 and the street name is not legible. - S2131900 U.S. Federal Census — Charles E. Smith household, Fullerton City, Nance County, Nebraska. Ancestry record 55270332; ED 145, sheet 3A. Read from the image at full resolution, 22 September 2026. Nettie E. Cleveland, born November 1896, 3, father born California, mother Nebraska, entered as granddaughter of Charles E. Smith (b. Oct 1844, Mich., carpenter) and his wife Victoria (b. 1844, Ohio; married one year, no children). ⚠ How Nettie is related to Charles E. Smith is not explained by the sheet.
- S2241910 U.S. Federal Census — Milton Cleveland household, Precinct 5, Brazoria County, Texas. Ancestry record 143961038; ED 11, sheet 2A, lines 14–17. Read from the image at full resolution, 22 September 2026. Milton Cleveland, 37, born California, carpenter, married twice, one year; Desa, 22, born Nebraska, first marriage, one year, no children born; son Edgar, 11, and daughter Nettie, 13, both born Nebraska to a Nebraska-born mother. 🔑 Desa is Nettie's stepmother, not her mother. Nettie's birth mother, a Nebraska-born first wife, is not named. ⚠ A Chas Cleveland, 64, born Michigan, nearby may be Milton's father; not assumed.
- S2261950 U.S. Federal Census — Walker household, Terrace St, Sansom Park Village, Tarrant County, Texas. Ancestry record 190625488; ED 220-91, sheet 31, lines 16–17. Read from the image at full resolution, 22 September 2026. Nettie E. Walker, 52, wife, born Nebraska, keeping house; head "Eddie G." Walker, 51, born Texas, married. 🔑 Terrace St fits the Sansom Park address on her death certificate [S145]. ⚠ Daniel Jonah Walker would be 60, not 51; the head is either a mangled entry or a second husband. Unresolved; no husband is stated from this record.
- S227Fort Worth, Texas, City Directory, 1932, p. 744. Ancestry record 1123396265. Read from the image at full resolution, 22 September 2026. "Walker Danl J (Nettie E) h3005 E 4th." 🔑 Daniel Jonah and Nettie were householders in Fort Worth by 1932.
- S3941940 U.S. Federal Census — E. G. Walker household, 2605 Hale St., Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., Texas (ED 257-122, sheet 10B, lines 46–48). Ancestry record 160343789. Image examined, read 24 September 2026. Confirmed E. G. Walker, 41, truck man at a dry cleaners; wife Nettie, 42, born Nebraska, a seamstress on the WPA sewing project; daughter Mary Elen, 14; all at the same place in 1935.
- S407Texas birth certificate no. 16186 — a daughter of D. Jona Walker and Nettie E. Walker, born 10 March 1923, Jackson Co., Texas. Ancestry record 108602949. Image examined, read 24 September 2026. Confirmed Father D. Jona Walker, 33, farmer, of La Ward, born McLennan Co., Texas; mother Nettie E. Walker, 26, born Nance Co., Nebraska; fifth child of the mother, 4 living; physician Jesse L. Womack, Edna. “Jona” supports Jonah over the “Jones” of the draft cards. Nettie's age, 26, fits a November 1896 birth (1930 census) rather than November 1897 (death certificate); it narrows the question but is not a birth record.
- S558Texas, U.S., County Marriage Records — Denton County licence no. 6549, 1940. Ancestry record 922856317. Image examined, read 25 September 2026. Confirmed E. G. Walker and “Mrs. Nettie E. Jerkins”, licensed and married 14 March 1940, Denton County. “Mrs. Jerkins” shows an earlier marriage, to a Mr. Jerkins, between Daniel Jonah Walker and E. G. Walker. His given name is not on this page.
- S710World War II draft registration card, 1942, Fort Worth, Texas. Ancestry record 20442270. Image examined, read 26 September 2026. Probable Eddie G. Walker, 43, born 23 September 1898 at San Marcos, Texas; of 1310 College, Fort Worth; employed at Bewley Mills; contact “Mrs. E. G. Walker”, same address. The card does not give his wife's given name.
